Duties and responsibilities Accurately calculate and process employee wages, salaries, bonuses, and deductions in compliance with Australian tax and superannuation regulations. Stay up to date with Fair Work regulations, award rates, tax obligations (PAYG), and superannuation laws to ensure accurate payroll processing. Maintain and update employee payroll records, including timesheets, leave balances, and salary adjustments. Assist employees with payroll-related questions, including payslips, tax declarations, and leave entitlements. Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure payroll accuracy, process new hires or terminations, and generate reports for auditing and budgeting. Requirements: Certificate IV in Payroll Administration or a related field (e.g., accounting, finance, or HR). Experience using Xero, MYOB, SAP, or similar payroll systems. Understanding of Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, PAYG tax, superannuation, and Single Touch Payroll (STP). Strong numerical, analytical, and time management skills to ensure payroll compliance. Ability to handle employee queries professionally while maintaining payroll data security. In addition to these technical skills and qualifications, you need to be reliable, trustworthy, and able to maintain confidentiality, as you will handle sensitive financial information.
